I just received an IP Office Small Office 401 unit. It is used and the password is already set. Does anyone know how to recover the password or reset the system to the default password? It is version 3.2.

you're lucky that the system is on 3.2. On earlier systems you would have to default the whole unit.

First I would try to reach the security settings with the default username and password: security and securitypwd.

If this has also been modified then you'll need the DTE cable and type: AT-SECURITYRESETALL
You'll then be prompted for the mac adress but this is echoed on the line before.
Then you'll be able to get into the security settings with the default username and password as mentioned above.
But also the default service username and password will be applied.

to be honest, if it is used, you probably want to to default the whole unit. Who knows who had it before you?

As gknight1 said. I would be tempted to do a full reset on it once you have had a look around. It gets rid of all the cr^p on the system that others (Perhaps novices) have managed to screw up/currupt.

In case you do want to do that this document should help.

And for all your learning needs this document library should be in all IP Offices Techs favourites.
