Recover Lost Files

Is there any good way to find lost files? For some reason, an entire folder of hard work just disappeared from my computer. No one else uses it but me. How can I recover this lost folder or the files in it? Searching has turned up nothing. Thank you.

There are commercial software and commercial data recovery firms that can recover nearly anything.

The most important thing at the moment is to use your computer (and especially the hard drive) not at all or at least as little as possible.

These type of programs are really hit and miss affairs, I hope they work for you, they do for some but not for others. I classify myself as "others" but now I keep regular backups of my valuable data, as no doubt so will you from now on.

The more expensive commercial data recovery services that charge an arm and a leg may be able to help you if your data is really that valuable.
