Octel 250
An exec user accidentally deleted a VM that they now want back. Is their a way?

No, once a message is deleted, it is gone and cannot be recovered.

if you have a tape backup it can be recovered. We do this for our customers by loading the backup tape to one of our lab systems and then networking it back to you or there are other ways to send it back to the user

If they hang up after deleting it, it's certanly gone.

However if they delete it, realise thier mistake before hanging up they can press 1 which should take them back to "Review Messages", then 3 to "Locate Messages" then 2 for ""Messages Received" then option 1, 2 or 3 in "Source" to retreve it again.

lever.

have never heard of that before and i just tried it and it did not work. Are you sure you are talking about a Octel 250. There is not a way to get a message back after you delete it from your own mailbox

Now I'm a bit confused.

I have always said I could not restore deleted Vmail although now I'm not sure.

If I have a tape backup, can I restore a saved message?

The Octel 200/300 Serenade systems allow the user to retrieve a deleted voicemail prior to disconnecting. The Octel 250/350 Aria systems don't have this feature.

Perhaps that is where the confusion came in.

Of course, someone mentioned you could always review the latest tape back-up to see if the message was saved.
