Recover deleted files

This is true despiration. I guess that I inadvertantly deleted some files and or a directory in the last 48 hours. These are custom Basic programs written for a customer. I have the compiled version running on their machine but need to make some changes.

My directory and files are gone!!

I have checked the trash can and they are not there. Is there a way to recover the folder/files through a dos command like in the old days?
