Well I tried to install an sp2 beta from MS website and my computer bombed. I can access all the data by installing the drive as a slave on my other computer but I cannot access files in my user folder because it is the default on the computer. It has much information that is valuable to me. What can I do to get this back? Any help would be greatly appriciated. I thought about trying to share the drive and then recover it over my network. Would that work? Thanks

Brian

Is your other computer the same OS?

If it's Windows 2000 or better, you should be able to access everything on the slave drive while you're logged in as administrator.

Yes, both are windows XP. One is home the other is pro. The one that died is home, but I will try that. Hopefully it works. The thing was I could see all files except for the one admin user folder on the dead OS's drive.

The only problem accessing the slave drive while logged in as administrator is if the original data (on the now slaved drive) was encrypted when it was on the other computer.

Let us know how it turns out or if you think of any other issues.

Good luck.
