Recover data on and old tape

I need to pull data off an old tape.

I have a library with lto2 drives. I am currently using Arcserve ver. 9

I dont think the tape is part of any database.

Can I use arcserv to read directly from an old arcserve tape?

If the data is not in your database then you'll need to run merge operation before you can restore.
