okay so I'm bashing my head against a wall here...

we just upgraded our SQL Server 2000 hardware and now one of the tables no longer returns its records in the correct order (ie sorted by primary key) it seems to just pick a random order, and only when its not a select * operation.

I was just wondering if anybody has ever seen this before, cause I haven't

any help would be very greatful

Have you checked that your primary key field is still deifned in the upgraded version and is a clustered index? Maybe some settings got lost in translation.

thanks for your advice... don't know what was wrong with it, but created a new (another) index for the table and it works fine.
