Hi there.

I'm setting up an AutoAttendant for my IP office 500 v2, and ran into a little issue that for some reason I can't remember how to do.

I have set up an auto attendant, as well as some time schedules, where the office is open, and then after hours. After that, I recorded my messages for each of the possible times, using the 8101,8201,8103 codes.

But when I go to select the used recording I still see nothing. I can't remember what to do to create the messages we can select for each time.

Can someone remind me of the steps, please?

Regards

try using the recording code next to the spot where you assign the time profiles in the Auto Attendant setup. (It sound like you already were.)
Make sure you do not put anything in the Recording Name field, leave it default at <None>.

Hi Shortcode.

Yes I went to change the recording rame field; however all I have for the recording is NONE. That is what I need to figure out how to change. But for the life of me, and reading what documentation I have, I can't figure out.

That's where I need some help!

Thanks for your help.

Regards

You don't change the name field, that's not what it's for, it's for choosing a named pre recorded file that you have uploaded, not for naming your own recordings :)

Ok. amriddle, then why don't I hear the recordings I have made.

In my Incoming Routes I direct the call to the AutoAttendant, but I never hear anything.

I don't know what I am doing wrong!

Regards

Just checking some of the obvious ones, after entering the Shortcode, you are pressing 1 to listen, 2 to record and 3 to save, correct?
Can you press 1 to listen and hear what you have already recorded?
Have you tried building a new Auto Attendant?

When you do the recordings, you don't want to change the Recording Name. Just assign a Time Profile, record using the grayed out code provided next to the Recording Name.
That should be all you have to do. If that is not working, even after building a new AA, watch the Monitor logs while recording and see if there are any SD Card errors about writing to the SD Card when you press 3 to save. You may have a bad card.

Did you record the menu greeting? (*8401)
When you don't do that then nothing will be played!

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Thanks for all the responses.

In answer to the questions, yes I have recorded all 4 messages and verified them with the listening to them.

I don't think I have an SD card issue, as I have recorded personal voice messages and announcements with no trouble.

I will try deleting the AA and re-creating it, and see what happens.

Hi.

Well I have tried deleting and recreating an autoattendant, and still nothing.

I have verified that my recordings exist.
I have verified that the time profiles exist, and have been set up on the auto attendant for morning, afternoon, evening, as well as the "choose an option" menu.
I have created a short code to direct me to the autoattendant.

When I dial the short code, I see my phone says the autoattendant name, and then after about 1 minute the display clears.

I am pretty sure my SD card is ok, as I have created personal recordings and they work just fine.

Any other ideas?

Regards

OK... its offical... I'm an idiot

When I recorded the messages, I for some reason, I'm going to say insanity or stupidity, dialled *91 before the *8xxx.

When I recorded PROPERLY I hear my responses.

I need a drink.

Thanks for all the help folks.

Regards
