Good Morning
AVAYA CM S8700 RLS 6

We would like to have a recorded message for calls that are On Hold.
Example:
You have reached XXX, your call is very important to us.
Please remain on the line and someone will be with you shortly.
After a specific time...
We are located at 123 Anyplace, USA.
Our fax number is xxx xxx xxxx.
etc.
I would like to do this for a specific group, not all calls on hold.
The caller dials an 800 number.
These calls are routed by DNIS.

Assistance Please

Lots of external music on hold devices can do this, and through a cor you can control who hears it when they are put on hold.

Thanks
Would you please give an example of an external device.
Would I set this up with an analog port?

COR
Class of Restriction?

Sorry, got some bad information.

An example of a Music-on-Hold source is a radio station connected to
a media gateway using an analog station port.

sorry yes I believe you can use an analog port on these, what type of analog card do you have

from the link I sent you that card is not an option so maybe that is why you are getting an error not sure if a mm716 can be used, maybe someone on here can tell you

The link refers to MM711.
I have a vacancy on a MM716 card.
Wonder what is the difference.
I thought we could RCA(for headset of radio) a cable to an analog pair, assign music and mission accomplished.

You can use a .wav file, stored in your media gateways VAL boards, as music on hold. That way you would not need any external device.

We have (4) G450
A .wav file would be required for each?
Voice over the LAN TN2501?
Having a Senior Moment.
How do I verify I have a TN2501?

1. You can have the file in many MGs as you want and add the "announcement" to an audio group which all the MGs would be part of. That way you have multiple sources.

2. All MGs have the VAL board integrated. That is the V9. You may have to enable it from the SAT on each MG

How do I verify I have a TN2501?

To see what boards you have you can use list config all

Everyone seems to have a very short attention... etc.

I know Viking makes a device that did just this. It had an audio input, and an output, along with a mic jack. There were also a few switches to record your message(s). It would interrupt the music every x seconds to play whatever announcement you recorded.
