Recording PC onto Video

Hi All,
I have connected my PC to my television, but how can I record whats on my PC to Video cassette.
I am using an Elsa Gladiac 511 TV-Out card and connecting to TV with a SAV lead. Where do I go from here? or am I going wrong in the first place?

Please help, I have work which must be transferred to video.

Any input would greatly be appreciated

Well, you need the video and sound going into your VCR so that you can record it. You are talking about transferring video from your PC to Videocassette, right? ~cdogg

thats right......i can play a video from my pc onto my television, but, how do i get the video recorder to receive that same picture? so that I can put it onto video cassette?

Uhhh, well...how about about hooking the video cable from your video card into your VCR?

Perhaps the problem is that you're using an S-Video cable, but your VCR doesn't have an S-Video input. Is that the problem? If so, you need to be more specific so that I'm not repeating something you've already thought about.

Doesn't your video card have an analog RCA output for video? You know, the single yellow jack?

Uncanny!..........I was thinking about that while driving to work this morning. From the PC straight into my video.
I will have to wait until I get home to check what options I have on my video card (I should have all the required sockets necessary). I do know that it will have to connect to my video with scart.

I have a similar problem. I was wondering how you could record a dvd onto a video. I've hooked up my laptop, a thinkpad r31 to my sony digital tv, via s-video and used the headphone jack to carry the audio channel, so I can play dvds direct from my laptop to the tv. Is there a way of outputting from the tv to the video recorder or will I have to connect the laptop direct to the video recorder. If so how will I connect the audio channel as my video recorder has only a scart connection?

Most Tv's do not have any outputs. (I think they were thinking, why would they since the TV is what should be displaying it anyway To get it direct to the vcr, they make many adapters at radioshack that probably will enable you to hook it up. I have been successful so far in finding the right devices but sometimes it takes a little searching.

You should be able to accomplish it by running the RCA jack to the VCR and then getting an adapter to change your headphone port to the red & white rca jacks for the sound.

Ok.....Nearly there guys......here goes!

one end of the cable should be a scart to connect to vcr?
the other end should have three connectors.
a) rca
b) audio out L
c) audio out R
or is it...
a) rca
b) phono

Which one is right and can anyone post a link to a website where I can see this cable (or if more cables are need, then the link for each part.
I got a bit confused at Radioshack lol)

I managed to record from dvd onto video. I connected one of the tv scart points to the scart point on the video. I set the channel that displays the dvd as the output to the tv screen and the output to the video. Pressed record et voila...quality was OK. there seems to be some interference, not in the recording but once the video stop button is pressed, otherwise all is ok
