Looks Like R-span can only be sent back to a 3rd party voice recorder using a single path. We have redundant paths between our Media Gateway cards and the rest of the network. In order to make the R-sapn work correctly we could not send R-span over both paths or out of synch voice recording would occur. In any case we chose to capture the packets comming from the Media gateway cards IP addresses. This allows us to capture calls converting from TDM to VOIP. However, when the conversation between VOIP phones is captured the conversation plays at light speed and is not understandable. Interested on the results others have had in capturing VOIP packets for Voice recording.
We use Engage ( formerly called Call Parrot), the customer can use span or Dual Media Stream, there is a restriction by Nortel that only two DN can be recorded per set - needs two ASTs as below. Uses CC6 and MLS server - CC7 has multi DN recording capability - waiting for testing on that. go to
for sales options..we have over 100 IP sets recorded on a single server, plus they have a neat integration for TDM, they use a TALC card - check it out
