Hello,
I know ACT has some field changes tracking... but, does it have a RECORD-LEVEL timestamping?

I have an ACT database with 1000+ contacts. The tracking stuff (at field level) never got turned on. I need to know if ACT has some hidden and/or system fields that store the:

1. Date the record was created
2. Date the record was updated

Thanks in advance!

Hello carlosalvidrez,
Assuming that there has not been too much customization done to the layouts the information you are looking for would be on the "Status" tab.

The system fields you are looking for are "Create Date" this was the date the Contact was added to the current ACT! database. The other is "Edit Date" this is the last time any changes were saved.

If you are looking for the specific date and time "Field Changed" occured you are out of luck as this has to be turned on in the "Define Fields" dialog box and the "Generate History" has to be checked for each field that you want to have a history for.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Michael

Storyteller,
I have found them... thank you very much!

How do I export those fields? I need to get that info into Access or Oracle or XL. I have exported in different ways and do not find sample values for dates I know should be there.

I see contact name, etc, but not these two fields (creation date, last updation date).

Thanks!
