How can I implement record locking in Access in such a way that no two users can retrieve the same record at the same time.

By this I mean, User A and User B are logged into the database. There are 5 records in the database.

Once User A sees Record 1 or any other record it cannot be seen by any other user, i.e that record is locked marked as locked by User A and once worked cannot be worked by any other User.

Hi. The easiest way I found to do this was: In your current Db click on TOOLS in the menu bar & select options. From there click on the ADVANCED tab. You will see 'DEFAULT OPEN MODE' set that to 'SHARED'. In the 'DEFAULT RECORD LOCKING' options click on the 'EDITED RECORD' radio button.
This will lock the record so only 1 user can edit the record at any given time. For more info type 'RECORD LOCKING' into the help wizard. I hope this was some use to you???
