Folks, I am at a loss and thought I'd request the assistance of the pros on Tek-Tips.
I have a database that is split front-end & back-end, I've made Access 2000 mde's for the users and have them installed on the users desktops; the Access 97 back-end resides on the LAN. This Db is accessed by multiple parties through-out the day.
My problem is this: when our receiving staff comes in early in the morning and opens the Db, somehow it is locking the recordset so our engineering staff cannot edit any records ("This recordset is not updateable" showing in the status bar on the engineering machines). This locks all the records, not just some of them. I know that neither receiving computer is set to open "exclusive" on the Db (or no one could open the Db), and all record locking is still set at the defaults.
What could be causing this, and what can I do to correct the problem?
Thank you in advance!
