Hi

We have an Access 2002 db that we share with several users. When I go into the db in design mode it locks other users out. Is there a setting or change I can make so that users will not see the locked out message and access the db when I am in the db in design mode? To my best knowledge this did not happen in Access 97 which is what we just converted from.

The following message is displayed: The database has been place in a state by user ‘Admin’ on machine ‘machine name’ that prevents it from being opened or locked.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Charles

You should not be working of an mdb that is beiing used by others. Work on a 'working copy' and when you have done your work, debugged and etc, write it back to the 'users copy.'

Clarification: I am in design view of a report and other users are just trying to run the same report. It is stating it is locked? Am I missing a setting or is this just the way Access 2002 works?

Thanks

Charles
