I'm totally new at all this. I have a customer that has essential edition. No AA, calls come in and ring hunt group, all extensions ring for 30 seconds, vm picks up after 28 seconds. All users have the source code for the huntgroup to allow access. This part is working just fine. I just can't figure out how to record the voicemail greeting for the group voicemail. I have the *17 set up for voicemail collect, and if I dial the huntgroup number I can check on voicemails, just can't figure out how to record greeting.
Sorry, I know this is a lame question, but I really can't figure this out. Have googled it, searched for it, read what I can, and can't find it. I appreciate any help you can give.

Create a voicemail collect button or short code like
?Main
From a Hg member's handset press the button or shortcode. Enter HG VM passcode.

press 3 for greeting options.

I'm a Spanish lumberjack and I'm ole'.

I have a short code, **280, coded "?"280 with 280 being the huntgroup number. I dial **280, it asks for my passcode, then will only let me change the passcode. It gives me no options other than that.
Thanks for the help.

The short code better be **820/"?grouname"/Voicemail Collect/0
Then dial **820 and enter 3
A used with Vgroupnumber can acces the VM options without a passcode but it has to be a groupmember as well

Thank you for trying to help. Intrigrant, that is the way I had it coded, but I tried creating another short code with the group name spelled out instead of using the number. I still get the same thing when I dial the short code, it asks me for the password, then only lets me change the password. Looks like I need my Avaya tech's help. I must have something wrong. This was supposed to be a very easy system. Not one I should be pulling my hair out on.
Thanks for trying!

Are you set for IP Office mode or Intuity mode?
I have the *17 set up for voicemail collect, and if I dial the huntgroup number I can check on voicemails, just can't figure out how to record greeting.

If you can get into the mailbox to listen to messages, via *17, group mailbox number+#, password+#, press 3 for Greetings.

OK, thanks for all the help. It turns out it was a password issue. The password was sequential, and the system would not let me do anything until I changed it. I didn't know the password could not be sequential. When I finally tried a different set of numbers, it took the password change and allowed me to get into the group menu, and change the greeting. All the time I thought it was my coding short codes wrong, and it was a simple password error. Thanks all for helping such a newbie!

I starred your posts today because I was having the same issue today, and was able to find I was missing the short code. It was great to be able to look at this again and get my system working correctly. Thank you to all that take the time to help!
