Have got request that I think could be achieved through variables, but would request your help please.

CM 6.3.
Customer is looking to record a dynamic announcement remotely, we can achieve this via remote-access feature- works well. But the challenge is this announcement is always playing (very busy helpdesk) and thus it is impossible to change it (it does not allow to change while it is played). A solution to get around this is to use 2-3 announcements and use variables and may be to use the announcement extensions which is not active, and then a way to make it active.

In principle it should work but could someone help with the variables that need to be set or the vector steps or how this can be achieved efficiently?

Your help is highly appreciated. TIA.

I guess you'd need to call in twice - once to set a global variable and once to record.

Something like this
the call vector:
1. Goto step 10 if A=2
2. announcement 1234 (that you want to change)
10. announcement 1111 (hello. someone is re-recording the 1234 announcement)

And then dial in remote access to dial another vdn/vector
collect 1 digit for A after announcement 2222 (press 1 if you'd like to set A=1, press 2 if you'd like to set A=2 so the main call vector skips announcement 1234)
