I have installed rel 8.5 MSl onto a APC in a 3300 CXi. I can access the APC through Putty and get the Menu. I want to change the current setup which I believe is in server only mode, to server-gateway.
When going through the reconfigure from the menu at the point where I would expect the option to change it appears to miss that step and continue on to the ethernet port settings.
I have tried 2 complete re-installs of the software from CD without success.
Any suggestions please.

The CX platform has only one LAN interface for the APC so the server must be
operated in server-only mode.
In the CXi platform, the APC can operate as an Internet Gateway. The APC, when configured for
server-gateway mode and designated via controller programming as the Internet Gateway,
provides the NAT, firewall, and routing functions as provisioned using the server-manager. In this
configuration, the APC is connected to the controller front panel port labeled 10/100 WAN. All
traffic coming in on the WAN port (destined for the LAN) goes over a private VLAN to the APC
through the MSL internal firewall and then out of the APC on a different VLAN to the front panel
10/100/1GIG LAN port. ICP Ethernet communication takes place through one of the 10/100 802.3
LAN ports.

I dont think that answered the question, which is how do you re-configure the APC to behave in server-gateway configuration. The text you have quoted is directly from the MSL Installation Guide pages 6 & 7. That text dosent explain what Rich14 wants to know?

you must log in as admin and set up the server at port 2005. There has been a problem with the secure telnet access in Release 8 but you should be able to reconfigure from this point, I suggest using the SSH supplied by Mitel. The first log in is the controller's; if successful you will be prompted for the teleworker login.

I hope this better answers your question. You should really get the installation guide from MOL. It is much more complete than this answer.

The problem I had was not seeing the option in the setup via putty for Server-Gateway, Server, or Private Server. I understand this has changed and this option does not appear in the APC version of MSL 8.5 because this is for MPBG (Teleworker Version 5).
I installed the APC MSL version 8.2 which is for Teleworker Version 4.5 and the options were there.
I configured the APC as Server-Gateway and all working.
Thanks
