Can anyone suggest any really good css layout tutorials or any good books i can rent from the library?

I have been down and spoke to an assitant, and told them to search the keyword "css".

After many results. I decided to order the book ...

Eric Meyer on CSS, Mastering the language of Web Design

I dont know if any of you have heard of this and can advise me whether it is good or not?

Thanks for your time,
Jon

Hi,

I prefer reading on the may be just me, but..

w3c has some xhtml tuts:

I dont think you need a book for this, as it's not that hard. There are a few changes, but they are all wrapped in a handfull of new rules.

write some pages and try to validate them afterwards, and you will also learn from the validator.

FoamCoW. I am glad I have made a good choice.
I learnt JavaScript from a book called.

"JavaScript WEEKEND CRASH COURSE" by Steven W.Disbrow

I advise anyone that wants to learn programming to use these "WEEKEND CRASH COURSE" books as they are exceptional in explaining everything about the language you want to learn with really easy to follow guide.

They also do ...

Flash 5
Visual Basic 6
C#
Active Server Pages (.asp)
C++

and many more...

Kind Regards,
Jon

You might also do well to look at:

Designing with Web Standards - Jeffrey Zeldman
and
Web Standards Solutions - Dan Cederholm

These will give you an idea of how to structure your HTML to make it worthwhile using CSS with them.

For me, it's kind of a whole package. Without doing the HTML "right" you'll come a cropper with the CSS part.
