We have an IP Office 412, we're not using IP at this time. What would be the most recommended phone for a call center atmosphere? We were sold the 4412's but the users are not happy with them. Sound is poor, not many fixed preprogrammed buttons...Any Suggestions?

The 5400 digital series phones are really nice, though cost more. Everyone likes them far better than than the 4400 series. One thing, you need to be at release 3 for them to work.

I was told that release 3 was still full of bugs and it was recommended to stay away from it. Is that true? This was just a couple of months ago.

3.0.44 seems to me to be as stable as any other 2.x version.

The 54xx phones are definitely better looking, have more preprogrammed buttons, and an internal speed-dial directory, but users do complain about not being able to see all of their programmed buttons on one page. The 4424 is the best to see all your buttons at once, and is still the best choice for operator consoles when paired with the 4450 DSS block.

I have all 5420 sets and love the phones, but at the expense of 3.0.44. I would not recommend moving to 3.0 because of the many issues we are having.

Software release 3.0 is not as bad as people say. Most problems occur because of program errors and/or wrong usage, the current version 3.0.44 is quite stable and the minor bugs still in it will be solved in the next release end of this month.
The 44xx series of extension are nearly "end of life" wich mean they can be bought right now, but can you next year?

Just the fact that they are hard phones and don't require any labeling sales me. If you have users that change their buttons often then 54xx are the way to go.
