hello hello.

i have recently picked up an issue with a 406 tied to a cm via an ip line.

dialing from ipo > cm works fine.

dialing from cm > ipo fails.

i've traced the calls on the ipo end, i believe the reason the call is failing is that i am recieving 06xxx from the cm. ipo extn range is 6xxx.

i've worked with avaya and they have traced the calls on the cm end, and they have confirmed numerous times that when the call is set up the cm is only sending us 6xxx.

i've triple checked the programming and cant find any reason for the 0 to be added to the call.

ipo is on 4.2, and the programming is 100% the same as another site connected to the same cm, only difference being that ipo is running 5.0

i even added shortcodes to both the line and the system shortcode tables.

06xxx
dial/dial extn
6xxx

as a temp fix, neither worked, but im definately seeing 06xxx as the recieved digits.

any ideas anyone?

Had this problem a while ago. It has something to do with the National prefix setting. If I remember more I'll post it.

Looked in the Manager help file:

National Prefix
This indicates the digits to be prefixed to a incoming national call. When a number is presented from ISDN as a "national number" this prefix is added. For example 1923000000 is converted to 01923000000.

Either I deleted a value that was there or someone changed the CM side so that the calls were no longer a "national number." I think it was the latter.

thanks fella thats a good place to start looking. if it makes any difference the IPO is in the UK and the CM is in the states.

i have a big "sit down" about this tomorrow. ill let you know what happens.

The shortcode in the incoming ip line in the ipo must be like this:
sc = 0xxx
TN = N - Note the "N"!
Action = Dial Extnsion

The prefix settings should not be used on ip lines but you never know.

Call Avaya, costs only €400 per hour, you must buy at least five hours.
But then you can talk to a REAL expert....
Now that is what i call support.

Intrigrant is right.
This should not be that hard to do.
It is just like using a secondary dialtone and having a systemshort code with 0N going to N
