Anyone has problems savings profiles with this program, i have tried 9.1.4 and 9.1.3, and they both mopdify the registry in chinese for the reg key where the profile pfs should be !!!

I.E

Instead of having something that looks like this everytime i try to save a profile :

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Avaya\IP400\SoftConsole

----> C:\Users\<USER>\Documents\Avaya\IP 400\SoftConsole\Profiles\<extension>\<filename>.pfs

I have kanji or chinese character instead !!!

Help ?

I had the similar issue. Here's the steps I used to resolve it:
- Uninstall softconsole.
- Reboot the PC
- Install the Softconsole, by right click on .exe file and choose "Run as Administrator"
- After you complete install, right click on the softconsole shortcut and choose "Run as Administrator" again.
- Extract AvayaFW.bat and Run this file with Admin Privilages as well.

These steps fixed the issue and allowed me to save changes. Hope it helps.

The user has full admin rights on the pc and there is no firewall... The thing that bugs me is the chinese/japanese characters where there should be a standard path for profiles...
I'll try it again your way, one other solution i though is starting the new profile from scratch after clean reinstall and not loading the old one, even though the chinese stuff still comes back...

I had the same issue with a customer after upgrading Softconsole from 9.1.1 up to 9.1.3 or 9.1.4 (profiles will be saved to file but Softconsole will not use the file when logging in).

I got a patch from Avaya that solved the issue (and some more) and the information that the patch will be part of SP5.

Do you still have the patch somewhere ? I have an open ticket with Avaya right now and will try to solve the problem monday morning.

The patch is only to replace two files without installation of anything. So you can test it adhoc. Just keep the original files...

Tried both patches, the one you have and the latest one sent by avaya, both stabalized the software, but both have an issue the F3 key (Transfer to voicemail) doesn't work, have you noticed if it works on yours ?

The customer didn't test that since Voicemail is not used that much here.

Transfer to Voicemail is a known bug. Scheduled fix is SP5. Pressing the message button on your handset while on a call still works though. If you raise with Avaya there is a CP for this too

BTW, derfloh's patch also fixes Group Status in the directory showing Out Of Service and only one Group Member.
