My company has recently aquired a Partner R3.0 system with Partner Mail 3. I've set up each of the line and extension permissions and set Auto attendant to immediate answer but when you call in you still get an automatic message of "You are being forwarded to the receptionist" before AA picks up. I can't found out anywhere how to disable this function. Any help appreciated.

That means you don't have something set up correctly. Did you assign the VM ports to Hunt group 7? If you go off hook on Intercom and dial 777, do you get VM?

Thanks,

No, currently I'm getting a busy signal if I dial intercom 777. I was going to set up the extensions and auto answer and then set up the VM. Do you have to set up the 7 hunt group before AA can be enabled?

If you get busy you need to assign the VM ports to Hunt Group 7. The way I figure out what the VM ports are, VM card has 6 exts. Take your last extension on the station card just before the VM card, add 6 and the last 2 numbers you get should be VM. It is not always exact, but it will get you close. The way I check, once VM is answering, is to make a busy lamp field with about 3 ext before and 3 ext after what I think the VM ports are. Then when you call VM, you can watch the ports answer.
Not very exact, but I pretty much taught myself, and that has always worked for me....

Thanks,

Hi esopian,
Do you have a Partner Mail or a Partner Mail VS? Mattwray is correct for a VS module. A Partner Mail is a stand alone box that is a small computer. You plug that one in to the ports you want to use port by port. Anyway, the message you got means that the vm ports aren't programmed yet. If you have a four port vm, then it would be the last four ports on the vm card. The system "sees" a vm card as a 206E card without the co ports.

I have a Partner Mail. It's the stand alone. But I've actually got it worked out right. Mattwray's suggestion for the hunt group 7 got me going enough to finish up all the initial setup work. It's always a pain working with a used system, because you can't count on anything being at default. Thanks for all the help guys.
