Receiving/Sending E-Mail through VB6? 1

Hello everyone,

I'm creating a basic remote-control application. The server runs on my machine, then I can send some commands from my mobile phone (via email, hopefully) to my server machine to perform various functions.

Is it possible to send and receive email using VB6? I'm broke, so I can't pay for any professional solutions.

Thanks, that's useful, but I can't find anything on receiving email, either on google or tek-tips.

Any ideas?

Check out VBHelp. Look for the MapiMessage control, then look for the Fetch Method of that control.

To avoid the security problems (asking for permission to access email) do a search on this forum for 'redemption'. You can also do a search for 'send email' for which there are a number of answers. If you use the search tab immediately below the title of the thread you can limit your search to this forum specifically
