2 users in my office were cc'd on an email and for some reason it keeps getting delivered over and over approximatly every 90 minutes.

The person who the email was sent 'To' is not experiencing the same problem (that person is not on my Exchange system)

My users are on Outlook2k and we're running Exchange 5.5 on the back end (NT 4) - all SP's up to date.

I initially thought it was an issue with the sender, but since the 3rd recipient isnt experiencing the same problem, i'll need to try to dig deeper on my system.

Any thoughts/ideas about this problem would be greatly appreciated.

do you have any idea what the originating mail system is? I once had a similar issue with messages coming from Exchange 2K to my Exchange 5.5 users....

You probably need to turn Mailguard off, OR get an IOS upgrade from Cisco. I believe they fixed this issue in their later releases...

sorry... PIX yes, Mailguard i dont believe so (i dont see any references to it in the configuration)

just spoke with the Network Engineer, and yes Mailguard is running.

IOS version 5.2.3

Yeah, I think you need to get a patch for that and get up to 5.2.4. But don't go on my word, find out if you can disable Mailguard temporarily to see if it alleviates the problem. Or contact Cisco (if you have support)to see if my theory holds water. I know for sure though, that they have this bug documented on their website...

Thanks for the tip Brontosaurus!

I'm trying to find documentation on the cisco website about the bug... could you post a link to it if you happen to know where it's at?

there's reference to the cisco site from the MS KB article.

once again, thanks for the help Brontosaurus!
