Receiving inbound calls from people who said we called them, but we didn't?

Associates in our corporate office are reporting getting calls inbound from people who said we called them, but we didn't.
Callers are getting rather upset, and report in some cases the person being called is getting many calls, and never a messaage.

Callbacks to us come in on our local PRI's.
Situations like this happen at random and usually are short duration, until now.

Has anyone else had this issue? What can be done/if anything when this happens?

Someone else is spoofing your number(s). There is not much you can do about that.
 
Do you have a CDR configured? You could search for the called # and see who or witch device is calling that #, can be a typo # configured in one of your fax. Temporary quick solution could be to route that number directly to your phone using ARS Digit-conversion table....
