I am looking forward to getting my A+ certification what should I do to go about getting it. I have experience building CPU's and have been doing it since I was 15 and I am currently 19. so I have a understanding of the hardware part I say @ least 40-50% of it. I have also purchased a book and other ideas as to what kind of timeline should I give myself before going to take the test.

It might be worth it to wait.. the update with specializations is supposed to be coming in Q3 2006... Hardware and Software will be combined in 1 half and the other will be specializations (IT Tech, Remote Support Tech, Depot Tech and 1 more to be decided)
more info is here
While if you were to pass the A+ now it would be good for life as always, you might end up getting stuck where you take 1 half of the current a+ hw/sw parts and they switch to the new format before you can get the second half. I would hope they would keep the current exams available for people who have already finished half but who knows..
