hi all, i need to shut down Call Pilot and move the power plug to a new UPS. what is the best way to do this so that i don't cause any problems or lose data, etc?

i guess i have to perform a backup first? also, how do i shut it down? can it be done remotely via the call pilot manager or do i have to be at the server?

Some questions to ask.
Only if you have a backup (tape drive! and network if possible) ?

What type of system ?

If your system is monitored then you probably want to diable the call pilot elan otherwise you will get a call from your vendor.

On the call pilot server use ctrl-alt-del and select shutdown, in the planned field type the nature of the shut down.
