Well shaftoe, if you have good applications, it isn't necessary. Between Windows and other apps that ususally not the case and alot of problems can be avoided with regular reboots. I have one that reboots twice/week, I would be hesitant to do daily.
I feel I should provide a little warning here. Windows servers are notorious for not booting if disk space on the boot volume is < the amount of physical RAM.
So if it's at all possible - checking available space on the boot drive before reboot would be a good thing.
