Hello,

I am in need of rebooting the signaling server in order for the recording system to sync back up.
I have tried restarting the VOIP engine of the recording server and ever rebooted the recording server but it will not register the phones.
This is a Linux based server and i know how to reboot it.
My question(S) is,
Will i need to do anything with the media cards before or after?
About how long will it take and are there any other major implications I need to watch for, other than 500+ softphones going out of service :)

Thank you,

You should be fine, I have rebooted them before without issue. Boot up time depends on what type of SS it is. The CPPM is the slowest to come up, slow processor. Depending on software release the IP phones if you have any will register to the Media cards. Newer releases they will not. Login procedure will tell you logged in with an emergency account while the UCM is down. UCM can take a long time to come up, sometimes up to 30 minutes depending on server type. It seems to be the last feature to come up.

KCFLHRC,

The softphones are 4.04 so they should register themselves.
Thank you for the reply.. I'll guess will reboot ...and wait patiently.
In the mean time.. enjoy a star !!

Thanks again !!

Good luck to you, and remember, lock the switch room door if it goes bad.
