Any thoughts before I return an IPO for replacement.


I have a customer where we have install around 10 IPOs all with SIP trunks. All are working great except one. Now I might have missed a setting or something (which I hope). The problem IPO just drops all the trunks and the customer had to log into the IPO and send a reboot command. After the IPO reboot and everything is good. It's a new install (been in place for a few weeks) and it's only happen once. Does anyone see this as fluke or do you think it could be chronic?

If it happened just once start a monitor trace and info the customer that you are monitoring the system with the SIP tabs check to see if you can catch the issue. Then wait to see if it happens again, if not it was a fluke if it does you should see why in the monitor trace.

What version are you running? Are the SIP trunks registering with U and P or on a Trusted IP Address? Could be firewall NAT issues.

Also if it's a new install and assume 9.1 then you can restart a trunk in system status.

They are running 8.1 (refurbished) that is why I am worried. And they are registering via U and P.

I will have our router guy look into the port forwards and verify that ALG is off.
 
IPOLackey is on to something. If the IPO is unable to refresh registration, it will eventually drop out.

Well no SIP trunk failure so far. I did find that ALG was one at that location.
