Hi all

I run a 50 seat contact centre and we currently use version 2.1.(78) on a IPO412 and still use DT modules and phones.

We need to install a call recording application and I think the best idea would be upgrade to the latest version (4.1) and replace all the modules and handsets and then get Contact Store.

Can you guys give me some other good reason to upgrade to 4.1 (not mentioning that we will then be running a supported version of software of course...)

Thanks

2.1.78 is still supported for DT systems

I wouldn't upgrade to 4.1 (it isn't even on GA yet)

ask which features you require (Vista Support? SIP trunks?, twinning, CCC etc)

I'd guess the big ones would be Vista and CCC

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

Well...we currently run the latest version of CCC (5.0.43) with no problems.

I can use Phonemanager (V3.2 + TAPI V3) and V4 of Manager with no problems on my Vista PC...

I wanted to use Contact Store and I understand this doesn't support DT phones so I might aswell upgrade to the latest version of the software.

Does the newer versions of the software allow easy remote monitoring?

What I wanted to do was present a business case to my boss for upgrading to get the call recording app and I thought that getting some ideas on what everyone thinks are the best features in the newer releases would be a good starting point.

I call a DT to DS upgrade a familiar product with a different handset style.
I do genuinely love the product, even if its not designed to do something 90% of the time you can create some shortcode or some thing in VM Pro to do the job.

Contact store will not work with DT systems period, however Contact store isn't actually call recording. VM Pro is doing this and contact store just organizes them puts a codec on them.
Hopefully soon they will also be bringing legally binding recording to the product.

Any ways if the cheque book holder will not pay for the upgrade you can still record calls.
I guess the one winning factor is future proofing your investment, getting support with the supported software and also while it is a new handset it will still be very close to what you have, ie shortcodes/vm interface/ccc reporting

mattknight - I was told the only DT based firmware supported was 3.0 578 firmware. (yeah I know practicably the same. I would be interested to know if this is definite as we have had at least 2 of our .78 sites rejected to escalate.

Indeed it would - but what recording method (trunk, station o service observe)

How well does it integrate to IPO (and crucially does it follow the IPO voice record settings)

If the customer is happy with the 2.1 then leave it as it is , maybe upgrading to 3.0DT can be considered as this will be supported for some time.
I advise to buy a external call recorder which can be placed between the IPO and the trunks, this will give better quality and it will not use resources on the IP Office.
