Two computers running win98SE with 3com cards ping fine both ways to each other. Computer with Realtek 8139 pings itself and other computers OK but will not respond to pings from other computers. Switch works ok cables ok ip and subnet check and double check Any ideas

Check the duplex mode in the NIC properties. Ensure it is set to Autodetect and not set to a specific number(ie...100/Full, 10/Half). Does this help? James Collins
