There seems to be more and more people out there that are posting questions to the forums about basic things, and the answer is very plainly sitting in the Java Documentation.
I am in no way suggesting people should not post questions here, and myself and many others are always happy to help with even the most basic of questions (everyone needs to start learning somewhere), but a number of recent questions have all had the same reply of "Read the documentation" since the answer is clearly stated there.
People could save themselves a lot of time if they went there first, checked the doco and then if they can't find the answer, or it is unclear, jump in here and post away to your hearts content, and we will reply with equal vigour.
The documentation (and some very good tutorials) for all things Java is here :-
Just my helpful tip of the day. ----------------------------------------
