Hi!

Im running W2K SP2, networker 6.2, overland neo series autochanger, sdlt drives.
Im getting following error on labeling a tape or doing an inventory.
\\.Tape1\read open error: unknown error 1117 (0x45d)
once a tape is labeled backup/restore is possible - with errors:
\\.Tape1\reading: unknown error 21 (0x15)
Doesnt matter what tape drive is used.

There are no W2K based errors in eventlog, just networker reports errors. scsi cabling checked, looks ok.
Already tried recreating autochanger and drives a few times, no luck.

What else to try ? any ideas ?

hi,

already installed the latest drivers. RSM is already disabled. I didnt try the NT backup yet - will do so now.

go to command line and enter:

net helpmsg 1117

and

net helpmsg 21

It seems to me that you have a problem with your tape drive.

Hi,

change your timer settings in the autochanger config.

:)
