read only files

i have a purchased fmp6 and installed on my PC and my laptop. i finished a database on my PC and when i tried to transfer it to my laptop, it gives me a read only file. is there anyway i can change this so i can modify my database on my laptop

= burned CD?
right-click--->properties the opposite of read only
