Hi,

Anyone seen this before?

User is emailed a file

User then copies file to a floppy.
When user then tries to copy file from floppy, he gets a "system cannot read from the specified device". This happens to two floppies.

User then places file (not from floppy) to a network share. same error appears when trying to copy from network.

Odd or common?

I think the most obvious answer is that the file is corrupt!

You only described the file not being readable after being saved to other locations - is the file readable under any circumstances?

After I wrote this, I asked the same questions. You are correct---The file was corrupt.

I also have received this message when I copy and paste a file from HD to floppy... It only happened on NT server, when I shared the file to another computer for win98 and did the same thing, I could succefully read the file at anyother couputer...
