Read data from an open window with Object Rexx

I would like to be able to access an open window (for example, the AIM buddy list) and be able to read the data from the window, say a list of all the stock quotes and prices at the bottom of the window. I've tried using the Menu Object Class, and others, but none seem to do what I want. I'm sure I'm missing something basic but can't seem to figure out what it is. Any help would be appreciated. Tks,

You may want to use a third party tool like autoit.
