I have done a lot of research on this, and the answer has been 'no' so far, but does anyone know of any way to get data out of an Oracle .dmp file without an Oracle database? I would be prepared to do a lot of manipulation etc.
We found a utility called NXtract which seemed to work fine, unfortunately the free version only allows up to 5000 rows, and we didn't have time to buy the full version (it would involve lots of admin!).
We have managed to re-install our version of Oracle and are using the imp function. Oracle Lite is available as a free download for anyone who doesn't have access to a full version but I have no idea how well it would work in this situation.
The way I understand it, ODBC drivers and the rest only connect to a server (and you don't need Visual Studio to use them). I don't have access to the server at all - just need to access the dmp file.
