Hi, im running apache 2.2 with php (5 I think). Part of my site has restricted access, using a .htaccess file, but i want to be acble to reuse these usernames after that page (for example save the username as a cookie), I'v has a search around but found nothing helpful.

I know when I authenticate under ldap, I get AUTHENTICATE_UID or something as an environment variable. Print out the environment, it might be there.

I'v found it; it's
$_SERVER["PHP_AUTH_USER"]
and
$_SERVER['PHP_AUTH_PW']
