Next week i'll be taking A+ Core, my original plan was A+Core, then study and take A+ Software, and I-Net+ the same day as A+ Software.

Now I'm thinking nail out the i-net+ same time as the Core.

One expensive cert to get though man.

Did some practice tests, I'm thinking just a small study guide outta cover it. It all appears to be pretty straight forward.

Hello schase
It is good to take one at a time.U can spaced it let say skip a day and then write the other one.Well I took the A+ core and A+ OS on the 6 and 10 of this month although it was not easy I made.so just skip a day or two and it will be easier for u.BYE

I would suggest taking one at a time. Don't spread your focus over too wide an area. The A+ exams should be your main focus. The i-Net+ is not terribly difficult and it will seem like a breeze after you have passed the A+ exams.

Pick up the David Groth book for i-Net+. It should be all you need and I still keep mine on the shelf as a good reference book.

Really cram for the A+ exams. Give yourself that extra edge by knowing the material really well and lessen the margin for failure. Best of luck.

well Passed the A+ Core today.

barely.

got a 603 - which depressed me so much I am just stunned.

It's like I studied for an old test, all the IRQ's, DMA, etc - just one or two questions of those.

I did take it when I was extremely tired - I have no doubt that made an impact.

Not to worry. A pass is a pass. All the scores I have seen coming out of the new A+ exams are in your range. It's tough. Barely an entry-level exam anymore.

Hold your head high, my man. You PASSED! Congrats.

On a second note... shame on you for taking the test when you were tired. Vince Lombardi once said, "Fatigue makes cowards of us all."

You should try and give yourself every advantage. Overstudy. Good atitude. Well rested.

I guess,

At first I had to double check the test number - thought I was taking the Net+ exam all over again (it probably saved my butt)

man I tried to get sleep last night, just couldn't with a buncha other stuff going on in my life. But I was like - ok i've been consistantly scoring 85+ on all the practice tests I could find - I could recite IRQ's forwards, backwards, random, SCSI no problem, little shakey on the entire line of CPU's - but more than enough knowledge to do process of elimination. (turned out only a couple questions here anyway)

Hex no problem (no questions on this)
Binary no problem (also no questions)

bah, well onto the OS

Given time before I move.

I was thinking finishing the A+, I-Net+ and then Server+.

I know Server+ is in beta, but are there any recommended books out there yet?

The Server+ Bible by Trevor Kaye is very good. There is no maerial out for the new objectives but the Bible will give you a good start.

The Server+ for Dummies by Ron Gilster is pretty good also.
