Does anyone see any problems that may occur if I re-set the Domain Administrator password? Running 2K AD.

thanks

by re-setting, I mean changing the password.

Well you really should change the DA password regularly anyway. You need to make sure that no services start using the DA account, backup software, scheduled tasks can cause problems. Other than that you shouldn't have any problems.

We had a lot of problems when we changed our local DA accounts for our database administrators. They were kinda mad. Also, our security folks were thrown off because they used it to authenticate to the application, which used Domain Authentication.

There is a powerfull tool called ERD Commander, this is a third party sofware that allows to re-set the administrator password, it works entering throught the windows registry and it changes the settings. i've done this several times and works perfectly.
