This is a two part question.
How do I re-name objects from an Access form. At the end of each month I need to copy two tables creating new tables with names that identify the month in which they were created. Example is as follows. Tablex copied to new tablex062001. Is there a way to do this without using VBA.

I may later need to use these tables to produce a report. Actually it is to re-print an invoice from a prior month if a customer requests it. I have a report that prints invoices using the current months data from the two tables. How can I change the name of the tables used by this report. Instead of using Tablex and Tabley I want to use Tablex062001 and Tabley062001.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hiya,

Quick response before bed (3am).

Re-think your tables. Add boolean (Yes/No) and date fields to the tables - no need to duplicate the tables themselves.

Then use a query to produce a report based on past info.

Respond if you're not happy with this.

Hi Darrylle,
Thanks for the idea. I will look at ways to do as you suggested. In the meantime, do you know of a way to select tables to be used in a report at report time. That question has come up before in another application.
Thanks again.

Hi Kyle,

Can u be more specific? Exactly what do you want to do?

You can select any data from any table for inclusion in a report? Whats the prob?

Just specify the prob.

Hi and thanks for being willing to help.
The customer collects transactions each month. At the end of the month, the transactions are consolidated into a summary table. They want to save the summary table with a name like Table0702. In future months they want to print part of the information in a selected summary table.
I would like to use a single print routine and assigne the table (table0702 or table0802, etc) at print time.
Any suggestion would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Kyle
