I have a fault with a Windows XP PC and think its got something to do with it caching the homepage.... I have disabled this caching using Tools>Synchronisation - and then under teh "Offline Web Pages" menu deselect "My Current Homepage" and select properties and then deselect "Make This Page Available Offline"

this then removes that entry from the synchronisation menu screen

can anyone advise a way to restore the "My Current Homepage" to that menu

Thanks
Paul

You could right-click the desktop and select Properites. Click the Desktop tab and select Customize Desktop. Select the Web tab and highlight (don't check the option or it will put the homepage on your desktop) 'My Current Home Page' and select Properties. Check the 'Make this page available offline' option and click OK.

thanks for the poinrer... i had already tried that, the problem is it doesnt display it as "My Current Home Page" in the sync. menu when you do that......

while the end result is the same, i am really after something that replicates the original configuration exactly so i can further diagnose the problem

Can System Restore do anything for you?

our users have restricted privaledges so dont have access to system restore......
