Hi,

I am using Windows 98 at home, running Intel Celeron 500Mhz.
I am using HP Color printer 640C. Whenever I send printing to my printer, be it using Word 2000 or Acrobat Reader 4.0,
my printer prints. However, my screen hangs or slows down.
For other printers like Laserjet model, they have 1MB RAM on the printer, printing queue is being buffered in the printer RAM.

Is there any configuration out there by which I can enable smooth printing and as well as to stop the hang and slow down of my PC?

PS: My RAM capacity is 128MB.

Thank you..

Head to My Computer->Printers. Right-click the printer.
Open Properties->Details.
Click on Spool Settings
Turn on top radio button (Spool print jobs...)
Turn on "Start printing after first page is spooled
In your case, Spool format probably should be EMF
Hit OK, then OK again.

Should fix you right up. :)
