I read quite a few of the posts and I was not able to find the answer I was looking for and many of the posts were really old.

Here is my question. I have a customer that has call-pilot versions 04.04.04.03 and they want to restore one persons mailbox going back 2 weeks from the archived backup's. He said that normally he would go to the backup and restore procedure within call-pilot and when he clicks the "retrieve directory" radio button near the CP_User's drop down nothing happens. I tried it myself and it appears to load something and then nothing. I would have thought it would have at least found what is on the cassette loaded in call-pilot? I looked at the backup's and some of the files show "Partially completed". When I view the file it only shows (1) file as missing because it was to large to backup. I can't see this (1) missing file causing this issue?

We have call-pilot setup to save to a cassette and also to "push" the files to an external server's hard drive.

Has anyone had any success in trying to load these "files" back into the main call-pilot system, just the CP_User's file? If so what is that procedure? Our data company who setup these backup's told us that there is an issue with the file and it might not be useful which would not be a good thing. I am guessing the issue is the "Partial completion" message due to the (1) missing file.

Please advise.....

Have you done this from the server or client machine i had ans issue once
from client machine logged on server and ran the user archive and it worked.

I am not to computer savvy so I forwarded your question to our computer support team. I am not sure when they will respond back to me.

I can tell you that I browse to call-pilot via HTTP:// and I am attempted to get these archived files from there. I am not physically located where call-pilot is. Are you saying that I need to go to the computer/ server location to access these files and or once we are able to upload the archived files from the external server?

Thanks

Yes, launch the browser from the Call Pilot Server or RDC to it and launch the browser from the server instead of launching the browser from your local machine.

Ok, I will try that once I get to where the call-pilot machine is. So this is where I can load the archived file from as well. In other words not from my local browser on my PC? I would guess that you would not recommend using remote desktop to get to the call-pilot machine?

I am a little bit nervous about remoting to the machine. I do not want to knock down any applications when doing so. I will go to the site on Monday and try to access the archives from the machine..

The plot thickens. I discovered that the .dat file that I needed to access for CP_Users did not get copied over to the server for some reason. I did find that .dat file later in the month but could not find it for the (1) week time period that was requested. Weird there was a backup for 2/14/14 - 2/28/14 but no .dat backup for 2/1/14 - 2/14/14. Is there a way to restore this off the full backup? If so I am guessing that would be service effecting to the entire call-pilot system if even possible? I am also guessing that if I restore the full-backup to 2/7/14 any messages beyond that in the existing call-pilot system would be lost?
