Hi,
I am using demo developer editions of coldfusion and dreamweaver just to get the hang of the program.

I am presently defining the site and the server to use with coldfusion, which is correctly installed, i am working through the tutorial that is part of the coldfusion administrator program.

However, part of the tutorial asks me to specify the rds login for the coldfusion server. When I click on this hyperlink it tells me the following in a seperate pop up window...

'The server name or address could not be resolved.
Possible reasons:
The url for this sites testing server may be incorrect(goes on to define my path of my testing server).
The testing server may be incorrectly configured(for example, coldfusion may not be running).'

I have a local network that I am using as my testing server, and when I test my url prefix it says that it is sucessfull, so i know that the testing server works.

as I am still learning my knowledge of the program is largely superficial and so i am a bit trumped - please help!

Can you list your settings?

Keith

The most likely way for the world to be destroyed, most experts agree, is by accident. That's where we come in; we're computer professionals. We cause accidents.

Sure:
what kind of setting do u mean, site definition settings?
mike

this is more of a dreamweaver question, but it sounds like DW can't find the CF administrator to try and log in. is the CF server running?

what is the url to the administrator? what is the url to your site, if your you're using local network, what drive do you have mapped as your "testing root folder", what is the "url prefix" for the testing site?

Beware of programmers who carry screwdrivers.

how can I check what my url is to the administrator?
