Hi there,

I'm fairly new here, but I thought I'd ask. I have an employee that works remotely on occasion. Here's the setup:

Work PC - WinXP sp3 w/Dual Monitors

Home PC - WinXP sp3 w/Single Monitor

When he opens one of our company programs, the pop-up window (OK or Cancel) seems to be popping up on the second, non-visible screen.

Is there a setting to force windows to pop-up at a specific pixel location (x=100 y=100) or centered on a particular display area (monitor 1 as opposed to monitor 2)?

Also, I keep hearing that dual monitor to dual monitor remote sessions are unable to display both monitors, however I came across this article and wondered if there was any merit to it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for reading,
Orrin

Good Day, I took a look at the link. The solution they discuss,(I think) is dual screen to dual screen RDT resolution variables and how to over come constant re adjustments useing microsoft configuration changes in the remote desktop connection script.Unless you have a very PC/Microsoft savy user I'd advise staying out of it. Here is what I would try, to keep things simple, if I were your user. 1, switch the screens in the display propertys of the work PC,make screen 2 the primary and see if that shows any result. 2, Have the user re arrange the programs that have the popups to display only on the primary screen at work. 3,(work around)once the RDT connection is established go into the display propertys and switch the work pc to single screen mode.

Thanks Technoid,

I chose option 2 from your suggestions and it worked like a charm. I did some further reading on the article I linked and I agree with your description. Thanks very much for the time and advice.

Best regards,
Orrin
