Hello,

In a complex situation where I am trying to see if there is a way, either by ISP settings or a router setting, to priortize RDP sessions over other internet traffic over the T1. We have voice and data allocated on the T1, but much of our functions are RDP sessions into a database. Any ideas on what can be set to do this?

Thanks in advance!!

Hello,

Have you looked into using QoS to prioritize that traffic type... Is your router capable of delivery QoS (Quality of Service)?

Is it an "integrated T1" ie, X number of DS0 channels
dedicated to voice calls, and the remainder of DS0s
aggregated to a 768kbps or whatever size Internet pipe?
Or are you using VOIP with a full Internet T1?

Not that the question really changes, except multi-tiered
QOS for different services increases the complexity and
troubleshooting a tad bit, but you'd have more bandwidth
to play with.

Thanks dtrtel and manatastic36 for your input. I do appreciate it.

What we have basically determined is that the VoIP QoS was pretty much overiding everything, as it basically should. However in this application, the RDP sessions were equal if not more inportant. We have put the task to a services issue to see if it is just a simple matter of resources.

Thanks again.
