RDP to Exchange 2003 not functional anymore 1

Did an RDP connection to the Exchange Server and rebooted it. Exchange 2003 is up and running fine, however I am no longer able to connect to Exchange through RDP. Am able to sign onto it through the console. Any ideas or suggestions how to correct this?

Based on a quick search here, have you tried the following:

Used sc.exe to make sure the service is running on the remote server

Used portqry.exe to see if the server is listening on the RDP port (3389)

Originally we wanted to try to resolve the issue without having to reboot the mail server. We finally gave in, waited till midnight on Saturday night and rebooted the mail server from the console. It worked.
